Since the start of 2019, I’ve been part of a transatlantic music project that goes under the name “The Calm Rads”. Although two thirds of the group are based in Chicago and I’m in Germany, we’ve worked out ways of making music together, just as we did back in the late 1980s and early 1990s while at college in northern Illinois.

I contribute, vocals, lyrics and guitars.

Alongside The Calm Rads, I have a separate solo project for my more electronic\/synth-pop music creations: “Transits of Mars<\/a>“. All of the music is original and self-produced using open-source tools on Linux (like LMMS and Ardour). It’s been developing nicely this year and I’m having a lot of fun trying out new sounds. Most of the songs are aimed at being relatively poppy, but there will also be some longer more atmospheric instrumentals being added as I go along. (The first one of those was “Docking Bay 12<\/a>“.)
